BLADENBORO – Rylee Chadwick pitched a complete-game 6-hitter and struck out 11 batters to lead Bladenboro to a key 5-3 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Hallsboro.

With the victory Bladenboro moves into first place in the AA Division with a 4-1 division record and 4-2 overall mark.

Karli Godwin slammed a first-inning home run to stake Hallsboro to a 2-0 lead. Lainey Autry and McKenzie Singletary cracked one-out singles in the Lady Bulldog first, and Kaden Thurman smacked a single as Autry scored to slice the deficit to 2-1.

Megan Pait drew a one-out walk in the Bladenboro second, and Chadwick reached base. An error on Autry’s grounder scored Pait and Chadwick to edge the Lady Bulldogs in front 3-2.

Whitney McLean walloped a triple to begin the Bladenboro third. Megan West reached base on an error as McLean scored. Marlie Walters reached base on an error as West scored to pad the lead to 5-2.

Hallsboro bunched a double and a single to score a run in the fourth inning.

Singletary batted 3-4 to lead the Bladenboro hitters. McLean hammered the triple, and Autry, Chadwick, Thurman and Kolee Wilkins contributed one hit each. Chadwick, Autry, McLean, West and Pait scored one run each.

Godwin batted 2-3 with the home run to lead Hallsboro.

Bladenboro will travel to Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
