NAKINA – Rylee Chadwick pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 12 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 6-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Nakina Thursday.

Chadwick walked one batter, and the Nakina first-inning run was unearned due to a 2-out error.

Whitney McLean belted a single, and Kalli Bass was hit by a pitch to begin the Lady Bulldog second inning. Megan Pait knocked in both McLean and Bass with a 2-out single. Chadwick smashed a double that scored Pait for a 3-1 Bladenboro lead.

The Lady Bulldogs tacked on 3 more runs in the sixth inning. Megan West was hit by a pitch but was retired on Chadwick’s fielder’s choice. Chadwick stole second base and sprinted home when Lainey Autry smacked a single. McKenzie Singletary walloped a double that scored Autry. Kolee Wilkins delivered a single that scored Singletary  and pushed the lead to 6-1.

McLean batted 2-3 with a run scored to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Chadwick doubled home a run and scored a run. Singletary doubled home a run and scored a run. Pait cracked a 2-run single and scored a run. Autry, Wilkins and Bass connected for one hit each. Autry and Wilkins drove in runs. Autry and Bass scored runs.

Bladenboro improved to 5-2 in the AA Division and 5-3 overall and will travel to Hallsboro Monday.
