Clarkton School of Discovery pounded out 20 hits Tuesday afternoon that paved the way to an 18-3 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory over visiting Bladenboro.

Winning pitcher Anna Kate White batted a perfect 4-4 and scored twice. Teammate Adrian Howell turned in a perfect 3-3 game at the plate. Izzy Smith also connected for 3 hits in her 4 at-bats.

Lorna Mendell hammered a triple and a single for the winners, and Carleigh DeVane and Esther Jimenez-Ward were both 2-2 at the plate. Jimenez-Ward circled the bases when her liner skipped past the centerfielder.

Johanna Parker finished 2-3 at the plate and scored 3 runs. Abby Cross also batted 2-3 for the winners.

White struck out 3 and walked 3 in her 3 innings in the circle. Kayla Dowless pitched for the Lady Bulldogs.

Shortstop Katie Guyton batted a perfect 2-2 to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Teammates Callie Lewis and A. Hickman added one hit each.

Clarkton School of Discovery is now 4-0 on the season.
