Shortstop Erica McKoy batted a perfect 3-3 and walloped a triple and a home run to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to an 18-2 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory over visiting Tar Heel Tuesday.
McKoy slugged the 3-run home run to left-centerfield to cap a ten-run Lady Blue Devil first inning, then swatted the triple to right-centerfield in the second inning. McKoy walked and scored in her first at-bat.
Winning pitcher Anna Kate White struck out 3 and walked 3. At the plate White cracked a single, walked twice and scored 3 runs. Teammate Adrian Howell smacked a single, walked and scored twice.
Carleigh DeVane batted 1-1 and scored 2 runs for Clarkton, and Abby Cross cracked a single and scored for CSD.
Pitcher Conner Brisson belted a single and scored a Lady Panther run. Indra Rodriquez walked and scored the other Tar Heel run on Robinson’s double.
The Lady Blue Devils remain undefeated at 3-0 in the Bladen Five and 6-0 overall.
