Clarkton School of Discovery pounded out 14 hits en route to a 20-3 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory at Bladenboro Wednesday.
Shortstop Erica McKoy hammered a triple and a double, scored 4 runs and batted 4-4 to lead the Lady Blue Devil hitters. Pitcher Anna Kate White finished 3-3 at the plate and her courtesy runner, Johanna Parker, scored 3 runs.
Carleigh DeVane belted 3 hits in 4 at-bats and scored a run for Clarkton. Teammates Adrian Howell, Esther Jimenez-Ward, T. T. Gaddy, and Cybil Campbell connected for one hit each.
Howell and Jimenez-Ward scored 2 runs each, and Gaddy, Campbell and Abby Cross scored one run each.
White walked 4 and struck out one as she pitched all 4 innings to pick up the win. Kayla Dowless started in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs, and Katie Guyton came on in relief in the fourth inning.
Alyssa Smith batted 2-2 and scored a run to lead the Bladenboro hitters. Catcher Kasee Singletary cracked 2 hits in 3 at-bats and scored a run. Guyton smacked a double, and Blair Lee scored the other Lady Bulldog run.
The Lady Blue Devils improve to 4-0 in the Bladen Five and 7-0 overall.
