CLARKTON – Gabby Bray pitched a 3-inning no-hitter and struck out 6 batters to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 25-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball victory over Tabor City Tuesday.

The Lady Blue Devils exploded for 13 runs in the 1st inning and added 12 more runs in the 2nd inning. Cabria Baldwin walloped a home run, a double and a triple to finish 3-for-3 at the plate and scored 3 runs for Clarkton. Teammate Brenna Hester slugged home run, batted 2-for-2, walked twice and scored 4 runs.

Tatum Allen drilled a double and a single, walked twice and scored 3 runs for CSD. Bray singled, walked twice and scored 3 runs. Savanna Howell and Rebecca Johnson both belted singles and scored runs. Ellie Kinlaw cracked a single and scored twice, and Layla Lent singled, walked and scored twice.

Greer Pope walked 3 times and scored 2 runs for the Lady Blue Devils. Ymani Monroe walked 3 times and scored twice, and Jolene Merritt walked twice and scored twice.

Coach Jordan Raynor’s Lady Blue Devils improved to 2-0 on the season and will host Bladenboro Thursday at 4 p.m.
