ELIZABETHTOWN – Gracey Edwards pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 12 batters to lead Emereau Bladen to a 17-1 middle school softball victory over Spirit of Life from Clinton at County Park.

Edwards also blasted a 3-run home run in the 3rd inning and walked and scored another run. Jaimee Perkins walloped a 2-run homer in the 4th inning and also walked and scored. Tatum Allen drilled a triple for the Lady Aviators, walked twice and scored 2 runs.

Taylor Dowless walked 4 times and scored 4 runs for Emereau. Abby Diicco, Sadee Brown, Chloe Merritt, Mollie Sasser and Emma Adams all drew walks and scored runs. Anna Robinson was hit by a pitch and scored a run.

Emereau capitalized on 15 walks and 2 hit batters. The Lady Aviators scored 3 runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings then exploded for 8 runs in the 3rd inning. Three Lady Aviator runs ended the game on the mercy rule in the 4th inning.

K. Hudson walked and scored for Spirit of Life in the 4th inning, and B. Parker smacked a 1st inning single.

The Lady Aviators improved to 3-1 and will host Sampson Middle School Tuesday at County Park.
