CLINTON – Gracey Edwards, Mollie Sasser and Tatum Allen teamed up to pitch a no-hitter Monday as Emereau Bladen defeated Spirit of Life 18-2 in middle school softball action.

Edwards struck out one in her 1-2-3 1st inning. Sasser pitched the next 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 walks, a hit batter and an error. Allen struck out the side in her 1-2-3 4th inning.

Taylor Dowless, Jaimee Perkins and Allen started the game with back-to-back-to back singles for the Lady Aviators, and 7 walks and an error in the inning led to 8 runs. Edwards and Emma Fisher slammed doubles, and Sasser and Sadee Brown cracked singles as Emereau added 3 runs in the 2nd inning.

Five walks produced a trio of Lady Aviator runs in the 3rd inning, and 6 more walks produced 4 more runs in the Emereau 4th inning.

Dowless batted 2-for-3 and scored a run to lead the Lady Aviator hitters. Edwards doubled, walked twice and scored 3 runs. Fisher doubled, walked and scored twice. Allen singled, walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Brown singled, walked and scored a run. Perkins singled, walked and scored a run.

Sasser singled, walked, scored a run and had an RBI. Addison Douglas walked twice and scored 2 runs. Emma Adams walked twice and scored 2 runs. Sierra Thompson walked twice and scored a run. Abby Dicicco walked twice, and Rylee Usher and Chloe Merritt drew walks. Usher scored a run.

The Lady Aviators improved to 6-1 and will travel to Riverside in Fayetteville on April 25th.
