ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Charter exploded for 11 runs in the 1st inning and defeated Mintz Christian Academy 16-1 Friday in middle school softball action at Bladen County Park.
Winning pitcher Jenna Brice struck out 5 batters and allowed only 1 run on 3 hits and a walk.
Leah McGill drilled a 2-run home run in the 11-run, Emereau 1st-inning. Mollie Tolar hammered a triple in the first inning and scored a run. Brice knocked in 2 runs with a 1st inning single.
Martha Simmons batted a perfect 3-for-3 to lead the Aviator hitters. Simmons slammed a double and belted a 2-run single in the 1st inning, then cracked a run-scoring single in the 2nd inning.
