Conner Brisson walloped a 3-run triple to deep left-field to key a 4-run fifth inning that vaulted Tar Heel to a 10-8 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory at Bladenboro Tuesday.

Brisson slammed 3 doubles and the triple, scored 2 runs and finished 4-4 at the plate to lead the Tar Heel hitters. Brisson was also the winning pitcher and struck out 2 in her 5 innings in the circle.

Tanamero walked and scored the first Tar Heel run when Brisson lined a double. Catcher Kasee Singletary swatted a double to left field to ignite a 2-run Bladenboro rally in the home half of the first.

The Lady Panthers jumped back in front 4-2 with 3 runs in the third inning, but Bladenboro answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the third to go up 6-4.

Tar Heel pulled even 6-6 with 2 runs in the fourth, but the Lady Bulldogs inched back on top with a run in the bottom of the inning.

Taniya Robinson belted 2 hits and scored a run for Tar Heel. Tanamero scored 4 runs, and Wilkes, Hales and Indra Rodriguez scored one run each.

Singletary and pitcher Kayla Dowless smacked 2 hits each to lead the 8-hit Bladenboro attack. Teammates Erica Storms, Callie Lewis, Summer Addington and Alyssa Smith added one hit each.

Storms scored 2 Lady Bulldog runs, and Singletary, Ashley Hickman, Dowless, Lewis, Caroline Hester and Blair Lee scored one run each.

Dowless struck out ten Tar Heel batters in her 5 innings in the circle.

Bladenboro will host Clarkton School of Discovery Wednesday at 4 p.m.
