ELIZABETHTOWN – Whiteville Central broke open a 7-6 game with 18 unanswered runs and defeated Tar Heel 25-6 Wednesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball action.
After Central scored 7 runs in the top of the 1st, Tar Heel answered with 6 runs in the bottom half. Serenity Council, Alajeh McMillian, Everlee Nance, Sherrell McKoy, Uriah Wright, Giselle Lara and Council again were all hit by pitches. Carrie Jones, Abigail Dew and Je’Leah Purdie drew walks, and Council, Jones, McMillan, McKoy, Wright and Purdie all scored runs.
Jones beat out an infield hit in the 2nd inning for the only Lady Panther hit.
