CLARKTON – Clarkton School of Discovery captured the Bladen Five Middle School Conference regular-season championship Thursday with a 2-0 victory over Bladenboro by set scores of 25-20 and 25-21.
“We got off to a slow start in that first game, but made a comeback to make it a close game,” said Bladenboro Coach Jessica Rhodes. “Second game we just came up a little short again. Good games though by both teams.”
Coach Chris Callihan’s Lady Blue Devils win the regular season with a 4-0 record. Bladenboro finished second with a 3-1 record. Elizabethtown was third with a 2-2 mark followed by Tar Heel and East Arcadia.
The Bladen Five Tournament will be played Thursday at Elizabethtown Middle.
