A missing 6-year-old girl from Wilmington has been found alive and an arrest has been made in her abduction, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Stefanny Lenneth Lopez-Castro of Wilmington was located on River Road in Wilmington on Thursday morning and has been transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, arrested was Douglas Edwards, 46, of Wilmington. According to reports, Edwards was arrested on Thursday morning and is facing charges of first-degree kidnapping.
According to reports, she was found about two miles from the location where she was abducted.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night for 6-year-old Stefanny Lenneth Lopez-Castro after she was reported to have been abducted by a white or Hispanic male on a black Moped.
