Currie, NC – Moores Creek National Battlefield will host the annual commemoration of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge this weekend. Events will take place throughout the day on Saturday, February 25th and Sunday, February 26th 2017. The park will be open from 9:00am-5:00pm each day, with anniversary events scheduled from 10:00am-4:00pm. There will be a narrated interpretation of the battle at 1:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

There will be living historians from both the Loyalist and Patriot camps doing weapon demonstrations in the morning and afternoon. Additionally, living historians will be doing trades and crafts at Patriot’s Field throughout the day. The Atkinson Volunteer Fire Department will be on site selling food and drinks. There will also be vendors selling merchandise related to 18th century life. The visitor center will be open throughout the day to show the park film and allow access to the book shop.
