Moores Creek National Battlefield to Hold 244 th Anniversary Event – FREE to the Public

Currie, NC-  On Saturday February 22 and Sunday February 23, Moores Creek National Battlefield will be commemorating the 244 th anniversary of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. Park staff, volunteers, and other living historians will be offering a variety of programs and demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The event will begin with a wreath laying ceremony at 10:00 am. Demonstrations and programs throughout the day will include music with John Golden at 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm on Saturday, as well as playing 18 th century toys and games, glass making, cooking, writing with quill and ink, candle making, Loyalist and Patriot programs, battle demonstrations, and so much more! In addition, local author Suzanne Adair will be presenting a program entitled, “The Crucial Role of North Carolina during the American Revolution” Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Visitor Center. A book signing will precede and follow her program.
