Mother County Genealogical Society (MCGS) will meet next Saturday, downstairs in the Bladenboro Historical Society Building, 818 South Main Street, Bladenboro, NC. The speaker will be Mr. Layton Dowless. Mr. Dowless has dedicated much of his adult life to placing memorial gravestones on the graves of those who served in the wars. He has been instrumental in the placement of over 500 gravestones in Bladen, Columbus and surrounding Counties. He will also speak on efforts to put flags on the graves of all military veterans.
The Mother County Genealogical Society always meets on the second Saturday of even numbered months.
