The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office announced today there were multiple suspects arrested and some are still wanted by Sheriff Jim McVicker and his team members with the Vice/Narcotics Unit, the Criminal Investigative
Division, and the K-9 Unit. Some of the charges listed included heroin, cocaine, and selling controlled substances 1,000 feet from school grounds.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has completed an investigation into the distribution of Controlled Substances in the Bladenboro area of Bladen County, according to the press release on Wednesday.

During the investigation, it was determined by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office
Narcotics Unit that the below listed individual was responsible for distributing Controlled Substances.

This investigation originated from citizen complaints which prompted Narcotics Agents to the area of Walnut Street, Bladenboro, NC.  Agents conducted undercover purchases from the defendant in this investigation where prescription medication (Xanax) was purchased, according to the report.
At the conclusion of this investigation, the defendant was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit, Criminal Investigative
Division, and K-9 Unit, conducted a search at the residence of Edward Hammonds, located at 43 Miller Cemetery Road, Saint Pauls, North Carolina. Law Enforcement Officers were directed to the aforementioned residence after community complaints that illegal activity may be occurring. Prior to law enforcement arriving at the scene, Hammonds fled into a wooded area. After arriving at the residence, deputies located multiple stolen weapons, cocaine, marijuana, a stolen motor vehicle, multiple video gaming machines, US Currency, and a liquor still. At the conclusion of this investigation, Hammonds was located behind the residence and apprehended without incident. Hammonds was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center according to the Sheriff’s report and additional charges are anticipated.

The report continued, Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has completed an investigation into the distribution of Controlled Substances in the Elizabethtown area of Bladen County. During the investigation, it was determined by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit that the below listed individual was responsible for distributing Controlled Substances.

This investigation originated from citizen complaints which prompted Narcotics Agents to the area of E-Town Phone Repair, Elizabethtown, NC.  Agents conducted undercover purchases from the defendant in this investigation where prescription medication (Hydrocodone) was purchased. The defendant in this investigation was identified as the owner of the business, according to the Sheriff’s Office. It was furthermore determined the defendant was acting in concert with others in the community to sell and deliver controlled substances from his business, the report stated.

At the conclusion of this investigation, the defendant was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, according to the report.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit stated they conducted a traffic stop on the following defendant in the area of Richardson’s Grocery, on Hwy 87, in Tar Heel. During the traffic stop, ¾ of a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, US Currency, and a concealed weapon were located, according to the report.

At the conclusion of this investigation, the report stated, the defendant in this investigation was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

 

 

 

The following individuals are currently wanted by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff McVicker is requesting anyone with information about people illegally selling controlled substances in Bladen County to contact the Vice/Narcotics Unit at (910) 874-0656.
