Willis (Junior) Nance, Jr. of Clarkton, on Monday, played in the first round of the 67th Annual North South Senior Amateur Golf Tournament held in Pinehurst. Nance had qualified for the tournament earlier. In the first round Nance shot 78.
Another area golfer, Kayla Thompson, also of Clarkton is attempting to qualify for the Ladies PGA. She is in California where the qualifying events start Thursday.
