Sheriff James A. McVicker said members of the Narcotics Unit conducted undercover operations in the Lisbon, White Oak, and Elizabethtown areas of the county that resulted in the arrest of three individuals.

“We are getting more and more information from the community about people selling illegal drugs,” said McVicker. “I believe it is because they know, if they call, we will act on the information.”

Sheriff McVicker said he is proud of the work of the Unit but take even more pride in the fact that citizens are coming forward with information knowing something will be done.

Arrested this week were the following individuals:

Arrested from her home, just outside Elizabethtown, was Denise McKenzie Lacewell, 61, of 906 M&M Street, Elizabethtown.  Lacewell was charged with one count of Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances (prescription medication), one count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II and one count of Manufacturing Schedule II Controlled Substances. Her bond was set at $15,000.00

Arrested in the Cain’s Grill area of White Oak was Walter Matthew Owens Jr., 35, of 274 John Owens Road, White Oak. Owens was charged with one count of Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances (prescription medication), one count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II and one count of Manufacturing Schedule II Controlled Substances. During his arrest he was found to be in possession of additional Oxycodone. He was also charged with one count of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $15,500.00.

Arrested in the Lisbon area of the county was Grant Eugene McKoy, 35, of 451 Vause Road, Clarkton. McKoy was charged with one count Sell/Deliver Cocaine, one count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Cocaine, one count of Manufacturing Cocaine, and one count of Possession of Cocaine.  McKoy received a bond of $175,000.00 for these charges.

The Sheriff’s office worked in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service and the United States Probation and Parole throughout this case. McKoy is also being held under no bond on federal charges stemming from Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Marijuana.
