This phrase became one of the most popular phrases of one of the most famous dramaturge. Today we are celebrating National Talk Like Shakespeare Day!

The Shakespeare Theater in Chicago established April 23 as National Talk Like Shakespeare Day in 2009. The Theater was inspired to create the holiday by the similar Talk Like a Pirate Day. Moreover, Shakespeare’s writings have become a significant influence through centuries. Theaters and people worldwide honor this day with events and celebrations.

Talk Like Shakespeare Day encourages people to speak like the Bard and the characters in his plays.

Here are some of the Shakespeare novels:

  • Hamlet- 1603
  • Macbeth- 1606
  • Romeo and Juliet- 1597
  • The Tempest- 1623
  • King Lear-1606
  • Julius Caesar- 1599
  • The comedy of errors- 1594

He is well known as Shakespeare. However, for many, he is “The Bard Avon.”

William Shakespeare was born in April 1564. The exact day of his birth is not formally known. Some people believe he was born days before his baptism on April 26. This conclusion leads us to think that he was born on April 23 – coincidentally, the same day of his death in 1616 at the age of 52.

William Shakespeare got married to Anne Hathaway at the age of 18. Together, they had three children, Hamnet Shakespeare, Susanna Hall, and Judith Quinney. He wrote approximately 38 plays and 154 sonnets.

It is not a secret that Shakespeare’s novels have played an essential role in World Literature. He is one of the most acclaimed writers of English Literature. Back then, he put his mind to capturing everything and everyone. He could empathize with people’s feelings, actions, moods, and even thoughts. Nowadays, Shakespeare is recognized as a substantial influential English dramaturge, poet, and actor.

For sure, one of the most attractive aspects to the public has been the complexity of Shakespeare’s characters. Also, the particular, and sometimes tragic, way he developed the emotions in his plays has been a cause of his fame.
