The National Weather Service Office in Wilmington has issued an updated snow forecast for Bladen County. The forecast calls for the county to receive between 1 to 2 inches of snowfall by Thursday morning. The winter weather advisory for Bladen County remains in effect until 10 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).

Reid Hawkins, with the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, said, “The snow has been a little late entering from the west. There have been a few reports of sleet and a few flakes so far but nothing of significance. Expect the colder temperatures to enter into the region west of I-95 with the next few hours. Rain should be changing to snow for those areas.”

He added that residents in coastal areas will not see snow before nightfall.
