The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued an update of road openings and closings in Bladen County. They are as follows:
OPENINGS:
Marsh Road
Marsh Road will open by 5 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday, May 25).
Forrest Drive
Forest Drive will open by 5 p.m .this afternoon (Thursday, May 25) and will remain open until Tuesday morning (see below).
CLOSINGS:
Cabbage Road
Cabbage Road remains closed at a location 1.24 miles south of Singletary Millpond Road in order to replace a crossline pipe damaged during the hurricane. The location will be closed through the middle of next week. (Contractor did not work because of rain threats)
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Forrest Drive
Beginning Tuesday, May 30, Forest Drive will close between Barry Lewis Road and Galeed Church Road in order to begin the third of four crossline replacements. The road will be closed through the end of next week.
Sunset Drive
Beginning Tuesday, May 30, Sunset Drive will close just north of NC 211 in order to replace a large crossline. The road will be closed through the end of next week.
Center Road
Beginning Monday, June 5, we plan to close Center Road at a location 0.44 miles south of SR 1101 (Marsh Road) in order to replace a large crossline pipe. The road will be closed through the end of that week.
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry is NOT operating due to high water.
