The North Carolina Department of Transportation has been hard at work in Bladen County. The NC DOT has announced the following closures for next week.
Sarah Peterson Road
NC DOT crews were unable to complete the pipe replacements on Sarah Peterson Road due to tougher than expected de-watering conditions. DOT anticipates completing the work on Tuesday, April 12.
UPCOMING CLOSURES:
NC DOT said there are no upcoming closures. Crews will be taking a break from pipe replacements for the next two to three weeks in order to finally complete the slope repairs on US 701 north of the Cape Fear River.
ROAD OIL:
NC DOT’s Road Oil group has started placing surface treatments in the East Arcadia area. NC DOT urges motorists to use caution when driving on newly placed seal treatments.
ELWELL FERRY:
The river level is falling; however, the forecast is for it to begin rising again before the river reaches operating levels. DOT will continue to monitor the situation and resume operation of the ferry as soon as levels subside.
