The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued an update of road openings / closings across Bladen County. They are as follows:
New Closings:
Twisted Hickory Road
Beginning Wednesday, January 4, at 8:30 a.m. Twisted Hickory Road will be closed at a location just north of Britt Road in order to replace crosslines damaged during Hurricane Matthew. Utility relocations will occur first followed by construction. The road could be closed for up to four weeks depending upon weather. For detour use Britt Road / US 701 / NC 242 for access around the work area.
Existing Closings:
The following locations remain closed:
NC 53 south of River Road – Under Contract – Expect Construction Start Soon
NC 210 west of Green Sea Road – Under Construction
NC 242 south of Lula Long Road – Under Contract – Expect Construction to Start When NC 210 Complete
NC 242 north of Johnsontown Road – Anticipate Late January Construction start
Paul Brisson Road – Under Contract – Awaiting Materials
Pleasant Grove Church Road – Under Contract – Awaiting Materials
Cromartie Road – Under Contract – Awaiting Materials
Owen Hill Road – Re-Bidding 1/17 as a Concrete Box Culvert
Rosindale Road – Under Contract – Awaiting Materials
Openings:
Richardson Street is now open.
Anticipated Openings by Friday, January 6, include Burney Road and Forest Drive.
