WINNABOW – Undefeated Brunswick County defeated Bladen County 10-1 on Tuesday in a semifinal game in the NC Junior Dixie Boys Baseball State Tournament at Town Creek Park.

Bladen County finished in third place in the tournament.

Bladen’s Hunter Elks walked to begin the game, stole second base and advanced on a groundout. Parker Greene knocked in Elks with a single for a 1-0 lead.

Brunswick answered with three runs in the home first, two runs in the second and two more in the third for a 7-1 lead. The game was interrupted by a weather delay, before Brunswick added three runs in the sixth.

Evan Pait, Greene, Jake Futrell and Aaron Wren connected for one hit each. Elks scored the run, and Greene drove in a run.

Futrell pitched the first two innings for Bladen County and allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two. Pait relieved and pitched the final four innings, giving up five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three.
