Charlotte, NC- “We share the outrage of our neighbors and the international community regarding President 45’s continued irresponsible remarks about our British allies via Twitter. Americans understand the need to unite when tragedies happen, which is an act of patriotism that goes back to the founding of our republic. We have led the world by example and have shown them why democracy will always trump fascism and tyranny.
It would have been considered an “act of war” against the American people had another nation’s leader made the same remarks about former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani after our 9/11 tragedy.
As our next 9th Congressional District Congressperson, I will continue to stand against the buffoonery of President 45 and speak out against the cowardly silence of the GOP. I was proud to be the only candidate in 2016 who has had the courage to stand up for our military and the safety of our families- and I’m proud to be the only 2018 candidate who has done it and will continue to do it. We can no longer allow ourselves to just sit on the sidelines until it is convenient to stand up. Each day someone spends hesitating, 45 and the GOP get closer to fulfilling their agenda. We need leadership that will provide courage, hospitality, and service to help lead the fight.”
