Raleigh – Nominated by more than 140 staff members at the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles statewide Customer Contact Center, Fayetteville resident and Staff Development Specialist David H. Jones was presented the NCDMV Spring Employee Award.
Jones, who began his DMV career in July 2007, is responsible for all aspects of employee training for the center’s 143 call center employees. Employees at the center answer questions that come from some of the state’s 9.3 million drivers about vehicle registration and titling, inspections and driver licensing. In addition to training, he provides technical assistance, support and guidance to employees, and assists in the management of the center.
A Bladen County native, Jones is a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Campbell University with a business administration degree. He is praised by Call Center Manager Renee Summerlin as “the foundation and glue of our unit. His integrity is unmatched, and he is constantly looking out for the safety and well-being of everyone in the unit.”
NCDMV employees are nominated by their peers for recognition of their performance or workplace contributions that exceed expectations, improve the workplace environment, increase efficiencies or boost morale. Four quarterly award winners are eligible for the DMV Employee of the Year award presented each fall.
