NCDOT announces Elwell Ferry is closed

Elwell Ferry in Kelly flooded after Hurricane Florence. This photo was taken two weeks after the hurricane. The water line from the flood may be noticed on the building.

Elwell Ferry is closed due to high water, according to Ms. Faye Boyne with North Carolina Department of Transportation. It will be closed until the water level goes down and it is safe to operate.
