The N.C. Department of Transportation announced Wednesday an update on Bladen County road closures. Following are the updates.
CLOSED
• US 701 Business (College Street) will be closed at the CSX railroad in Clarkton beginning Tuesday, March 7 at 8 a.m. and will remain closed through Thursday, March 9 at 5 p.m. so that CSX can perform track maintenance. Use US 701 Bypass as an alternate route.
• SR1003 (Faulkner Road) at NC 211 is closed for crossline repair beginning March 6 at 8 a.m. through March 17 at 5 p.m.
• US 701N: Both lanes of the northbound side over the Cape Fear River are closed. Traffic will be rerouted to the southbound lanes. The closure has a wide load traffic restriction.
ELWELL FERRY
• The ferry is open and operating under regular hours at this time.
