Here are the latest road closings in Bladen County from the N.C. Department of Transportation as of Wednesday, Dec. 8.
CLOSINGS
• NC 242 will remain closed thru December 9 at 5 p.m. for crossline repairs. The detour is NC 242 to Ruskin Road (SR 1335) to Gum Shaw (SR 1332) to Dowd Dairy Road (SR 1324).
• SR 1730 Elwell Ferry Road
Elwell Ferry Road (SR 1730) closed Dec. 7 and will reopen Friday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. so CSX can perform an emergency repair at the rail crossing.
• US 701 North
Both lanes of north bound US 701 in Elizabethtown over the Cape Fear River remain closed because of bridge construction. Traffic will be rerouted to the southbound lanes. The closure has a Wide Load Traffic Restriction.
• Elwell Ferry is closed.
