road_closed1The North Carolina Department of Transportation has released an update of road openings / closings for Bladen County. The list is as follows:

OPENINGS:

Elkton Road and Brown’s Creek Church Road are both open.

UPCOMING CLOSINGS (NEW):

NC 210 West

Beginning Monday, December 12, NC 210 west will be closing between Greensbridge Road and Melvins Bridge Road in order to go back and make permanent repairs to a crossline damaged during Hurricane Matthew. A signed detour route will be in place to use Old Fayetteville Road and NC 242.
EXISTING CLOSINGS REMAINING FROM HURRICANE MATTHEW:
*NC 242 North located 0.06 miles south of Lula Long Road. Anticipate work to begin early January.
*NC 242 North located 0.13 miles north of Johnsontown Road. Planning a temporary repair in conjunction with above while permanent repair using a reinforced concrete box culvert is designed. Road will be re-closed in the spring / summer to complete permanent construction.
*NC 53 located 0.25 miles south of River Road. Pipe replacement is under construction now.
*Paul Brisson Road located 1.17 miles east of NC 131. Anticipate work to begin mid January with completion late January.
*Pleasant Grove Church Road located 0.3 miles east of NC 131. Anticipate work to begin early January with completion mid January.
*Cromartie Road located 0.4 miles south of NC 87 Bypass. Anticipate work to begin in January and be complete by late March.
*Forest Drive located 0.29 miles south of Richardson Road. Work tentatively scheduled to start next week.
*Burney Road located 0.24 miles east of Tar Heel Ferry Road. Pipe replacement is under construction now.
*Owen Hill Road located 1.1 miles north of NC 87 Bus. Anticipated completion in late May.
*Rosindale Road located 0.47 miles north of Tram Road. Anticipate work to begin in late January / early February with completion by March.
