Currituck County 49, West Bladen 20
Currituck County outscored West Bladen 27-6 in the first half en route to a 49-20 victory in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2-A Girls Play-offs.
Senior Amanda Gerni pumped in 14 points to lead Currituck which took advantage of a steady parade to the foul line as West Bladen was whistled for 15 fouls in the first half. Currituck was only charged with 5 first half fouls.
Sophmore Lyndsey Lykins added 8 points for the winners who advance to play at No. 3 seed Bunn Monday night.
“My girls played hard,” said West Bladen Coach Pam Stephens who finished their season with a 12-13 record.
