BLADENBORO – Greene Central defeated West Bladen 5-1 Wednesday in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2A dual team women’s tennis play-offs.
It was the first loss of the season for Coach Billy Bryant’s Lady Knights, the Three Rivers Conference champions. West Bladen finishes 16-1 for the season.
Junior Alyssa Bell accounted for the West Bladen point, winning her singles match 6-2, 6-1.
Bell and doubles partner Autumn Brisson will be playing in the MidEast Regional doubles competition Friday in Reidsville. Teammate Savannah Lee will be playing in the Regional singles.
