HOLLY RIDGE – Freshman Marissa Silance scored 2 goals to lead Dixon to a 4-0 girls soccer victory Saturday over East Bladen in the second round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Play-offs.

Junior Brittany Silance put the Lady Bulldogs ahead quickly with a goal in the first 2 minutes of play. Marissa Silance found the back of the net with 22:16 left in the half then knocked in her second goal with 3:13 left in the half for a 3-0 Dixon lead.

Junior Hailey Russell delivered the final Dixon goal with 27:23 remaining in the game.

Dixon, the No. 4 seed in the East, advances to the third round with a 20-2-1 record. Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles completed their season with a 16-5 record.
