WAKE FOREST – Franklin Academy pulled away from a 3-0 halftime lead and tacked on 5 2nd half goals en route to an 8-0 victory over West Bladen in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Girls Soccer State Playoffs Monday night.
“It was definitely a good season,” said Lady Knight Coach Kristen Parker. “We have a great group of girls who work well together and have some chemistry. The majority of them are returning next year so we will be back.”
Only 3 seniors – Hannah Hester, Stephanie Smith and Fabiola Sandoval Barrios – will graduate from this year’s squad that finished the season with a 9-6 record and posted a 3rd place finish in the Southeastern Athletic Conference.
