West Bladen and Land-O-Lakes Golf Course will host the NCHSAA Class 2A Mid-East Regional Monday. Play will begin at 9 a.m.
Knight Golf Coach Phillip Penny believes that this is the first time that a NCHSAA Regional has been hosted in Columbus County. “We have had a lot of help from retired educators in putting this together,” said Coach Penny. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
Clinton, Reidsville, and Roanoke Rapids are among the favorites for the Regional title. No East Bladen or West Bladen player qualified for the Regionals this year. South Columbus will have players competing in the event.
“The golf course has been first-rate,” continued Coach Penny. “Billy Storms and his staff have done a tremendous job in helping us get ready forMonday.”
