REIDSVILLE – The NCHSAA Class 2A MidEast Women’s Tennis Regionals were postponed by rain Saturday and will be resumed Monday at Jaycee Park.
In semi-final play scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m., West Bladen senior Savannah Lee who owns a 19-2 match record this season will play Durham School of the Arts Aiden Rooney who sports a 19-0 record.
Both players have already qualified for next week’s Class 2A State Tournament at Cary Tennis Park. The winner of Monday’s semi-final advances to the regional championship. The loser will play a third-place match for state seeding purposes.
To reach the semi-finals, Lee handed the Regionals No. 2 seed Nithya Sampath her first loss of the season Friday by scores of 6-3, 6-3.
