GREENSBORO – East Bladen sophomore Malcolm Bolden and West Bladen senior ShyRon Adams posted the best finishes Saturday for the Bladen County athletes in the NCHSAA Class 2A State Track & Field Championships at NC A&T State University’s Truism Stadium.

Bolden covered 20 feet with his long jump that tallied 4 points for the Eagles with his 5th place finish, and Adams scored 2 points for the Knights with his 7th place leap of 19 ft. 9.5 in. The top 8 finishers in each event scored points.

Eagle senior Devin Bowen placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 104 ft. 4 in. East Bladen senior A. J. Smith finished 14th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12 minutes, 20.35 seconds.

West Bladen senior Tinyauh Rhoda was 13th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.2 seconds. Lady Knight junior Jessalyn Vendrick tossed the shot put 29 ft. 9.75 in. to place 14th.

The East Bladen girls 4×200 meter relay team finished 15th with a time of 1:58.54. Team members were seniors Aniyah McKoy and Aaniya Jackson and juniors Azariah Rhodie and Maya McDonald.

The Eagle boys 4×100 meter relay team placed 12th with a time of 45.16 seconds. Team members were freshman Jayden Dailey, Bolden, senior Charles Brown and junior Timothy McLean.

The East Bladen boys 4×200 meter relay team also placed 12th with a time of 1:34.43. Team members were Bolden, sophomore Blaine Pope, Brown and McLean.

The Eagle boys 4×800 meter relay team finished 13th with a time of 9 min. 23.96 sec. Team members were Pope, sophomore Jacob Knuth, freshman Zachary Metz and Smith.

North Lincoln won both the boys and girls meets.
