East Duplin slipped past rival Wallace-Rose Hill 28-26 on Friday night to win the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A East football championship and advance to the state title game.

The Panthers (14-1) will play West champion Reidsville (14-1) for the 2-A championship Saturday at 11 a.m. inside Kenan Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
