New Fire and Rescue Squad Building Project Approved

During the noon meeting of the Elizabethtown Town Council on Monday, Mr. Terry Cox made a presentation to update the Council on the proposed architectural design of the new fire and rescue building.   The new building will be located at the former Jessup Motors property on Broad Street.  The project is being funded by the Golden Leaf Foundation.

Elizabethtown Fire Chief Nick West stated he “is very pleased with the proposed renovations and additions to the historic building.  Mr. Cox was very receptive to the functional needs of our department and did his best to fit everything into the design of the building.  There will be a showroom for the antique fire truck as well as a conference room that will house historic pictures from the building’s history as Potter Motors and Jessup Motors.”

Final plans and bids will go out in the spring with construct set to begin this summer.  Construction must be fully completed by Decemnber 2019.
