Majestic Funeral Home officially opened its doors on a warm, sunny  Thursday afternoon with a ribbon cutting. The new business is located at 114 Pine Street at the intersection of King Street. The funeral home is housed in the building formerly occupied by Kinlaw Funeral Home.

The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce held a meet and greet prior to the ribbon cutting for members of the community to come and meet the owners and tour the remodeled facility.

Chamber Executive Director Dawn Maynard welcomed everyone to the event and said the Chamber membership is excited to have Matthews and his staff in the town.

Chamber President Charlotte Smith also spoke and said that she is excited at the prospect of a new business opening in Elizabethtown.

“We welcome you and we are so excited to have this new business here,” said Smith.

Majestic Funeral Home is owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Eric Matthews.

He said, “I have managed a funeral home in Lumberton. We saw this property and we saw an opportunity.”

Matthews said he and his staff look forward to serving the community.

Rufus Lloyd, Mayor Pro Tempore of the Elizabethtown Town Council, spoke and welcomed the Matthews to the town.
