Christmas is quickly approaching, and festivities are taking place all over the Mother County. Friday evening in Bladenboro, New Light Church spread some Christmas cheer at their Family Christmas Drive-Thru. With festive lights, a beautiful live Nativity display, a special appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and beautiful carols by the Wilmington Celebration Choir, it was an enjoyable event for all ages.
Dale Hester, Lead Pastor at NLC, says, “I am so proud of my wife, Donna Hester, who is our children’s pastor, for all of her hard work and creative ideas to bring Christmas joy to the children during these unprecedented times. The Children’s Ministry Team is dedicated, works hard, and they bring so many great ideas to life for our church. We could not do what we do without their contributions.”

The Wilmington Celebration Choir performed various Christmas carols that everyone loved. The audience of vehicles responded to the choir’s joyful noise by honking their horns in applause. The Wilmington Celebration Choir also announced that they will make an appearance on Sunday, December 20th at NLC during the morning services. Pastor Dale says, “I am so appreciative of the Wilmington Celebration Choir for bringing their talents and helping make the Family Christmas Drive-Thru great.”
Children’s Pastor, Donna Hester, says, “We had hoped to do something special for our community during a time when it’s hard for people to gather. This event has far exceeded our expectations, and the reactions of people in attendance have been priceless.”
The helping-hands of NLC volunteers were all over this event– Alison Carroll, worship leader and a member of the Children’s Ministry Team was one of the contributors. When asked about the Family Christmas Drive-Thru, she says, “I am so blessed to call New Light my church home. Even in this difficult and challenging season, it is heart-warming to be able to have this event and spread Christmas cheer and the love of Jesus.”
