FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Senior leaders from the North Carolina National Guard will join dignitaries and community members to dedicate the N.C. National Guard’s Fayetteville Readiness Center as the Maj. Jason George Center on Saturday, June 23, 2018.

The dedication honors Maj. Jason George, who was a member of the N.C. National Guard’s 252nd Combined Arms Battalion. On 21, May 2009, while on patrol in Baghdad Iraq, George was mortally wounded when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using an IED. George was an Eagle Scout, West Point graduate and held a master’s degree from the University of Michigan.
