December 18, 2020. Meeting materials will be posted on a rolling basis on the State Board’s
meeting website. Members of the public and the media may view and listen to the meeting

Consideration of appeal will be based on record below; no new evidence may be
introduced. Counsel for candidates Paul Newby and Cheri Beasley will each
have one hour for oral argument. Any briefs must be filed with
Legal@ncsbe.gov by noon on Wednesday, December 16.
County boards shall hold and conclude all hearings related to the NC Supreme
Court Chief Justice contest by December 9, 2020, and shall issue a written
order by December 11, 2020.
