The National Weather Service issued a winter storm advisory Tuesday morning for Bladen County with freezing rain possible beginning Wednesday afternoon.

A winter storm watch had been issued Monday afternoon, but was upgraded Tuesday to an advisory.

Freezing rain is possible with potential ice accumulations up to 2/10-inch for Bladen and Robeson counties and inland Pender County from 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon until 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Also, it’s recommended to prepare for possible power outages.
