The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory, which will be in effect from midnight (Thursday) to 11 a.m. EST Friday.
* Locations….Mainly west of the I-95 corridor and north of a line from the city of Darlington, SC to Whiteville to Rocky Mount.
* Hazard Types….Light accumulations of freezing rain.
* Ice Accumulations….A trace to a few hundredths of an inch.
* Timing….Beginning late tonight and lasting into mid-morning Friday.
* Impacts….Light freezing rain could result in patches of ice…especially on bridges and overpasses, making travel difficult and dangerous.
A freezing rain advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
