Betty Wallace Priest of Clarkton passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27 at the age of 83. She was born to the late William (Willie) & Ethel Tucker Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Layton Priest.
Betty is survived by two loving brothers: William (Billy) Wallace & Hazel of Morehead City, NC, and Dr. Stephen C. Wallace & Margaret of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by her loving children: Joni Priest Hall & Ray of Rolesville, NC; Tony Priest of Harrells, NC; Susan Priest of Clarkton, NC; Stephen Priest & Mike Shuler & Shane Baldwin of Durham, NC. She was loved fiercely by her grandchildren: Kevin Ward of Clarkton, NC; Amanda Link & Townsend of Elizabethtown, NC; Ethan Goodwin of Clarkton, NC; Ryan Priest of Harrells, NC. The apples of her eye included four great-grandgirls: Autumn & Emaline Ward of Sarasota, FL and Peyton & Addison Link of Elizabethtown, NC. Nieces and nephews include Maria Wallace Harris & Ed of Swansboro, NC; Karen Wallace Speight & Jeff of Rocky Mount, NC; Katherine Wallace Conway & Colin of Fair Haven, NJ; Sarah & Molly Wallace of Wilmington, NC; and Chuck Hooper of Orlando, FL.
A Celebration if Life will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 12 o’clock at Clarkton Presbyterian Church. The family welcomes and encourages everyone to join them at a reception following the service.
