Good morning! 3 things to know for Friday, October 23
1. It’s Football Friday and Bladen Online will have it covered with reporters at East Bladen to cover the Eagles’ showdown against defending state 1-A champion Wallace-Rose Hill, and at Clinton for West Bladen’s contest against the Dark Horses. It’s the top four teams in the Four County Conference. Kickoffs are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. We’ll have live tweets from each game @BladenOnline to keep you updated. Also, the Bladen Sports Network will broadcast the East Bladen game on WODR 105.3 FM or online at coolbeach1053.com withe the pregame show to begin at 7 p.m.
2. A “Think Pink” flu drive thru is scheduled today from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bladen County Health Department in Elizabethtown. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months old and older as long as they are not allergic to eggs. For information, call (910) 862-6900.
3. The Crazy Fun 5k Color Run & Walk is scheduled Saturday at Elizabethtown Industrial Park. Proceeds will benefit Bladen County United Way. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and race starts at 9 a.m. Wear a white T-shirt or the event T-shirt because you’ll have colored power tossed on you as you go around the course.
