Good morning! 3 things to know for Wednesday, October 7
1. After 12 consecutive days of rain, the skies cleared Tuesday as Bladen County began the slow process of drying out. The National Weather Service says we should have sunny skies for the next three days. However, there is a 40 percent of showers Friday night. Enjoy the reprieve.
2. The Ultimate Super Late Model series will return to Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the next-to-last race of the season. Chris Ferguson is expected to be among the entrants in the big race in hopes of repeating his series win at the track a few weeks ago. A capacity crowd was on hand last time the Ultimate series came to town. It should be the same Saturday.
3. Bladen Community College will participate in a National Moment of Silence on Thursday at 2 p.m. in honor of the victims of the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon. The school encourages everyone, whether at the school or not, to pause for a moment.
