NCAA Championship – – Clemson 44 – Alabama 16..

Tigers undefeated….Tide lost only one….two great college football programs, two great teams and two great coaches…Dabo Swinney and Nick Sabon.

Remember Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant and Frank Howard….pretty good coaches & programs years ago…at both schools…

I have no desire to get involved in climate change discussion…just know it is not ‘hog-killing’ weather.  January is supposed to have some freezin’ weather, an occasional sprinklin’ of snow and a hard freeze.  A week into January and no such weather.  I know, still lots of time….

As a youngster, I was hoping and praying for a good snow…..so we could scrape snow off of whatever to make snow-cream…mmmm good.  And, no school for a day or two.

Watched a little of the Columbus County Commissioners meeting last night.  Strong feelings displayed related to recent sheriffs’ race.

While watching that meeting, heard of a Food Lion truck involved in a head-on collision on NC 130 near Columbus – Brunswick County line.  Got my attention, our No. 2 son is a Food Lion driver, but I knew he was at the Outer Banks…still gets your attention.  No names or conditions at that time.  One person was airlifted….

President Trump apparently preparing for an address to the nation, on the proposed border wall….He stated previous presidents told him they supported a wall….Carter, Bush, Obama and Clinton, all denied….as a nation, we need to come to some reasonable resolution to the situation, open all agencies of government and get back to business as usual…..

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.  Daniel Patrick Moynihan

I venture to suggest that patriotism is not a short and frenzied outburst of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.  Adlai E. Stevenson II

Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people.  A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough. Franklin D. Roosevelt
